Day 20 Friday 10th June

Day 20 Friday 10th June

Punsand Bay to Eliot Falls
Bit of a rigmarole this morning trying to find diesel before we left the Cape, BP Bamaga had all pumps closed due to upgrades, Imjinoo was delayed due to refuelling, so we had to back track to Seisia. Finally fueled up, we crossed over the Jardine with no delays.

Not far to drive to Fruit Bat Falls. Lots of people there, very popular spot for swimming.
Pitcher plants are all around.
We decided to push on the our destination at Eliot Falls Campgounds. We did our only section of the Old Telegraph Track, 8km between Fruit Bat and Eliot. Slow going track with heavily rocked and rutted sections and one ford crossing with steep entry/exit.
The weather was surprisingly cool and breezy but after setting up camp and lunch we were ready for a swim.
Eliot Falls was spectacular.
Twin Falls was best for swimming.
Hours spent in the beautiful Falls, Blake was in heaven jumping into the deep spots.
Someone had left some firewood so we had dinner by campfire.  Gettintg low on food now,  no fresh salad, veges or fruit. Still heaps of frozen meat and some frozen veges. Just before bed, Brendan discovered the shock absorber is broken on our car. He thinks it's been gone for a while, will see if we can get it fixed in Weipa.
