Day 12 Thursday 2nd June
Early rising on our first morning in Loyalty Beach. Brendan was quick to be the first to throw a line in!
Kids spent hours playing on the beach with the hermit crabs. I pottered around camp for a while and then we walked up to Seisia Jetty from camp along the beach. It is 3km by road and was a decent slog along the sand.
Lots of sea shore life and beach trash for rummaging through. Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish washed up from Indonesia and from locals/tourists too.
When we got back, Brendan found a problem with the trailer suspension. Will need to fix that before we move on.
The afternoon was spent playing on the beach and fishing. We heard a few stories of recent crocodile sightings on the beach right out front here and also down near the Jetty, so we are on constant reminder mode for the kids.
We cooked roast lamb in the camp oven for dinner and banana cake for dessert. We had been given a hand of Lady finger bananas at Lakeland by a local farmer.
